Dr. Oyeleye’s Biography
My personhood:
I am a creation of God to whom he has given rights, privileges, and responsibilities. I am not inferior to anyone, and will not accept any attempt to make it so. I recognize Christ lives in me and loves me, and before Him, I cast down all man-made attempts and efforts to subdue the value that He has placed on me.
I have free will; whatever I do, it is because I choose to, not because I am forced to.
Dr. Omobola Oyeleye obtained her first university degree from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), where she studied Education (English). She later moved to the United States, where she obtained a master’s degree in education (Curriculum and Instruction) and began a career in teaching in the Texas public school system. Dr. Oyeleye obtained her juris doctorate from the University of Houston, followed by years of legal practice and mediation. While raising and homeschooling her children, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in nursing and worked as a medical/surgical and nephrology nurse. After obtaining a master’s degree in nursing, she began a career in nursing education. Finally, she obtained a doctorate in Education and is an Associate Professor of Nursing and the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies at a state university in Texas.
